Good Year (I Hope)

In the last few days of October I was criss crossing my way back home from Laurel Canyon. I got off the 405 at Main Street near Carson and drove south. After a lifetime of seeing the Goodyear Blimp in the air over Southern California, there it was on the ground in front of me.
I turned onto MLK Jr. Street and pulled over. The road was bumpy and uneven. I grabbed my camera from the passengers seat and walked up to the fence. I was able to get the glass lens positioned between the chainlink, overexposed by a stop, and took the shot.
Heading into the third week of 2026, I am ready to leave behind so many of the struggles and hardships that dominated my year of Job. I am grateful to take those lessons forward with me but here's to hoping against hope for a good year for all, after all. Amen.
